Foxgluvv returns with her shimmery comeback single ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’ where she continues to pioneer the hungover pop genre. Continuing her DIY sensibilities, Foxgluvv pays homage to Madonna in her latest self-directed music video. Watch here. Inspired by the 1985 film of the same name, Foxgluvv narrates the difficulty of navigating queer relationships and her longing for love all whilst coming to terms with her identity during her teenage years. Blending the lyrics and aesthetics of modern left field pop music with her love of the 80s, the single is complete with dreamy synths, lo-fi beats and a longing desire throughout.

Foxgluvv on writing ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’: “‘Desperately Seeking Susan’ represents the love and admiration I so desperately wanted growing up, as most teenagers can relate to.
" Being queer, I never saw my ideal relationship portrayed on TV or in films. "
I was left with a sense of longing and intrigue towards my sexuality and I found myself questioning whether or not I would ever be in a happy, fulfilling relationship. I wanted to write a song that managed to grasp those feelings of uncertainty underneath, whilst masquerading as a typical love song on the first listen” ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’ is the first cut from her upcoming debut E.P. ‘I Never Felt Hollywood’ to be released in Autumn 2019 and marks
the beginning of a new era for Foxgluvv’s unique pop sound. Despite being her most personal body of work, sonically she isn’t shy of continuing to create unapologetically pop tracks drowning in glittery synths, vocoders and flamboyance. Comprised of six tracks, the EP is the complete narrative of Imogen’s queer experience. From the beginning of her life where she didn’t see any LGBTQ+ representation in TV or Film (I Never Felt Hollywood), to rumours of her sexuality in high school (Rumour) to finally fully accepting and celebrating her and her peers new found identities (Fashion Hurts).
