Jesse Saint John is the he current queer godfather of pop. There, I’ve said it. And it’s true. No one is online, out there, staying in touch, directing lost souls, shepherding them the way Jesse Saint John is. I’ve spoken to numerous artists and they all say the same thing: Jesse Saint John is the sweetest, realest person around.
Now, that being said, Jesse Saint John is also a creative wizbanger! What’s a wizbanger you say? Well a wizbanger is someone whose creative outpouring is so immense you just never know what you’re going to get. And as brilliant as it is, they always make it seem like coming up with the final product was no big deal. They’re a wiz at banging out brilliance. Wizbanger. And that is Jesse Saint John.
Because ‘Crying’...oh mylanta. Simple meets complicated meets chaos. And it’s devilishly clever. It’s engaging, it’s not over done, and it becomes a huge talking piece. But it also feels like he walked into a room, took a deep breath, looked around and calmly said...”the largest pink stitching you can find on something black so I can effectively throw myself off a bridge before I go to a rave with my head wrapped in an exaggerated oversized veil...that’ll work”. And it does. And I am in awe of his creativity.
