When it comes to the world of music, our icons have each had their own outstanding quality that they have become known for and synonymous with. But if there’s one thing many of them have in common, it’s that they have big personalities. Enter Smashby. While still a smaller fish in the vast music pond, Smashby is definitely big on personality and talent and growing bigger every day.
Between crowdfunding his debut EP Bite Me, leading an anti-bullying campaign through schools in England, performing at Pride festivals, releasing original music and playing his first ever headlining concert, Smashby is nothing short of ambitious. As you read interviews and articles on the young singer songwriter you get the immediate understanding that Smashby is driven and will let nothing stand in his way of being the artist he was meant to be. He is determined to do things in his own unique spectacular way. Because if anything else, Smashby is fabulous!
Smashby has a lot to say and knows he has a growing platform to reach out to and connect with others. The title track from his latest EP Wild One deals with themes of acceptance, experience with bullying and homophobia, and is a rallying cry to those who have felt outcast to stand up and be proud. When it comes to Smashby, the music is banging, the attitude is fierce, the pride is palpable and the style is 100% Smashby. With a brand new EP, his current single Under the Sheets receiving praise from critics and dance floors alike, and an army of fans lovingly dubbed "Screwballs", Smashby seems set and ready to take on the world.
